Im just a man...Simply a man.....

I’M JUST A MAN: SIMPLY A MAN…….

Handsome men wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not a dude or built to fit Arnolds size.
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling them lies.
I say,
I’m just a man, simply a man.
Yeah, that’s me.
It’s the passion in my eyes,
And the flash of my pearly whites.
It’s in the breath of my chest,
And in my zest for life.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a woman,
The little ladies just push and squeeze,
Just to get their little piece.
Like fireflies they flitter
Wanting to impress with their glitter
I say,
It’s in the tightness of my hips
And the pride in my stride
The thrust of my manhood,
And the power in my thighs,
I’m a man, simply a man.
Yeah, that’s me.

Women wonder to themselves,
What they see in me.

They try so much,
But they can’ touch,
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the timbre of my voice,
The toughness of my stand,
That leaves others no choice,
But to follow my brand
I’m a man, simply a man
Yeah, that’s me.

Now you understand,
Just why my head’s held high.
Why the maidens swoon and their mothers sigh,
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud,
I say, I’m a man,
I’m just that, simply a man.
Yeah, that’s me.
And I say,
It’s in the wobble of my Adams apple.
The calluses on my palms,
That makes women want to sample
The strength of my arms.
‘Cause, I’m a man, simply a man
Yeah that’s me.

*** "Phenomenal woman" was written by Maya Angelou ......It is what inspired me to write "I'm just a man....: Simply a man". Please take the time to read Phenomenal Woman..........a wonderful poem that captures the spirit and the many identities of a woman:  http://www.feminist.com/resources/artspeech/insp/maya.htm
